Security
The site runs on HTTPS end to end; keys are rotated quarterly. Access to analytics and correspondence is limited to two editors (Warren Wetherby and Niall Vickers) through two-factor authentication. There is no customer database on this site — if Tucan Bit is breached, your account data is not here either.
Contact dpo
Data protection questions, access requests, and deletion requests go to editorial@tucan-bit.com. Harborough Media Ltd, registered at 144 Harbour Street, Valletta VLT 8ZP, is the controller for anything collected through this site.
What we collect
We collect two kinds of data. First, standard web analytics: anonymised IP, country, device, pages viewed, time on page. Second, anything you send us voluntarily — email address and the body of your message when you contact us. We do not collect payment data, government ID numbers, or birth dates.
Retention
Analytics logs are kept for 14 months, then aggregated and anonymised. Email correspondence is kept for 24 months unless you ask us to delete it earlier — then we remove the thread within 30 days of receiving the request.
How we use
Analytics data drives editorial decisions: which pages need an update, which bonus guide is unclear, which language is in demand. Correspondence is used to answer you and nothing else. No profile is built, no behavioural ad network sees your data.
Third parties
The site uses Google Analytics for aggregate traffic stats and Cloudflare for delivery and bot protection. Affiliate clicks are tracked by the operator's own system at Tucan Bit. Full list of sub-processors is available on request to editorial@tucan-bit.com.
What changes if you contact us from the EU or the UK: you have the right to see, correct, and delete the data we hold about you. Write to editorial@tucan-bit.com with the subject "GDPR" and we will respond within the statutory 30-day window. The response includes a copy of all stored correspondence, a note on what we had to retain (if anything), and the date the rest was removed.
